37-year-old John Johnson robbed a Brinks armored truck and took $1 million cash in Elyria, Ohio. Brinks has the most armored truck robberies across the United States, Brinks is a easy target for criminals, because Brinks employees are not allowed via company policy to fight back during robberies. Similar to Ulta Beauty being easy targets for smash and grabs, Ulta Beauty employees are not allowed to stop thieves.
The robbery was in January 2026, John was in a strip mall parking lot in the snow. A female Brinks employee enters the Brinks truck after a delivery. John gets out and runs in the snow to a nearby apartment of a innocent family. Kids and a mom are seen outside their apartment. John runs to their door and barges his way in.
Police are hot on John’s trail and are seen kicking the door down in pursuit of the suspect. A cop gets in the apartment and immediately begins to shoot John while John is already on the ground multiple times.
John died on scene.
