On June 20, 2024 police shot pregnant woman Ashley Patterson, 18, during a high speed chase on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ashley’s baby died in the shooting. An 17-year-old Calveyon Jeans was also shot. Four other teenagers were in the same vehicle too. Six teens were inside the vehicle when police fired into a white SUV. The chase began after the teens were allegedly involved in an armed robbery and carjacking. The white SUV was stolen.
Cops initiated a traffic stop on the white SUV, but the vehicle drove off onto highway traffic. Police gave chase.
The teens eventually entered a construction zone on the highway and were stuck between a median and concrete truck.
The suspect vehicle backed up into a patrol vehicle, ramming it. The suspect vehicle then drives forward and drives back in the direction of the median.
A cop then fires his duty weapon while on the side of the suspect vehicle, through the driver’s side window.
Calveyon was allegedly driving the SUV, he was shot. The pregnant Ashley was also shot. Ashley’s unborn baby was killed by police.
Cops feared that the suspect vehicle was going to back into an officer on scene, so use of deadly force was determined, according to police.
Four other teenagers were in the vehicle too, they were not shot. A firearm was found in the vehicle.
