6 people were killed in a massive crash on I-485 near Wilkinson Blvd. in Charlotte, NC. The wreck was on July 26, 2025. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
In the afternoon several vehicles collided with each other, causing a large 18-wheeler truck to overturn. Six people were pronounced deceased on scene.
Several others were transported to the hospital. More deaths are expected. The cause of the crash in under investigation.
Traffic was backed up for hours due to the fatal wreck. Multiple agencies responded to the crash including several ambulances and the mass casualties bus.
