UNC CHARLOTTE STUDENT AND PANERA BREAD EMPLOYEE KILLED IN I-485 CRASH

Riley Geith, 18, and Lillie Hining, 18, died in a fatal car accident on September 14, 2024 on I-485 in Charlotte, NC. Lillie was a freshman at UNC Charlotte. Riley was an employee at Panera Bread restaurant.

On September 14, 2024 several vehicles were traveling at high speeds on I-485 when a collision occurred. A jeep occupied by Riley and Lillie was flipped upside down.

One of the girls was seen hanging out of the overturned jeep. Riley and Lillie died on scene. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram. Some vehicles on scene caught fire.

A mother and son were both killed in vehicle collisions years apart

Multiple other people were hurt in the crash and taken to the hospital. The wreck shutdown traffic for a considerable amount of time.

Riley attended Wake Tech Community College. Both girls were recent high school graduates.
