Jovany Escamilla-Salinas, 18, died in a vehicle collision on December 4, 2023 on Highway 51 in Mint Hill, NC. Jovany was a student and soccer player at Rocky River High School. 2 other students from Rocky River High School were hurt in the crash.
Follow Charlotte Alerts News on Instagram. The wreck occurred at 8:15 a.m. on Highway 51 near Allen Station Road.The vehicle Jovany was in collided with another vehicle and ran off the road, flipping upside down. The vehicle caught on fire.
Sadly, Jovany died at the scene. A medical helicopter even responded to the scene.The other 2 victims were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Jovany played soccer at Rocky River High School, he was a senior. It is not clear who was driving the vehicle.
