On September 14, 2023 a large amount of money fell off of the back of an Garda armored truck on Sunset Road Charlotte, NC.
In the daytime hours money fell off of the armored truck. It was likely an unlocked or unlatched back door that caused the money to spill out onto the road.
Onlookers saw the money on the street and a cash grab began. People started running from all directions to pick up free money from the armored truck.
Some people even stopped their vehicles in traffic and scooped up some cash. Some Garda employees were telling people to put the money back, but the people ran off with the money anyway.
The cash spill caused Sunset Rd to be shut down for some time.
