Brian Ogbonna, 21, was convicted and sentenced to prison on September 24, 2025 after he slammed into an ambulance and knocked it over on North Tryon St. Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

Just after midnight on May 12, 2023, first responders from Medic responded to a motor vehicle accident
at the intersection of North Tryon St. and Mallard Creek Church Rd.
Brain ran a red light and was driving at 100 mph when he crashed into an ambulance. The force split the ambulance in half and knocked it upside down.
Inside the ambulance were two first responders and one of the drivers from the first accident. All of them suffered serious injuries from the crash with Bryan.
Both medics were knocked unconscious. 3 more ambulances had to be called to the scene to help.

Brian was arrested charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting
serious injury and failure to move over causing serious injury.

2 years later at trial, the jury found Brian guilty as charged. A judge sentenced him to two
consecutive sentences of 24-41 months in prison for a total of 48-82 months in prison. Click here to see more upside down crashes.
For the remaining assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury charge, Brian was
sentenced to a consecutive sentence of 24-41 months in prison; that sentence was suspended
pending his successful completion of 36 months of supervised probation.
