A murder suspect died in jail after jail nurses gave him another inmate’s methadone dosage, now his family can sue the Sheriff’s Department, Garry Mcfadden, and Mecklenburg County for millions of dollars
A incorrect medication dosage administered by the jail is what killed Miguel Gonzalez Rosales, 38, at the Mecklenburg County Jail on August 6, 2025 in Charlotte, NC. Miguel had mental health problems and he murdered Laura Miller, 35, back on Easter Sunday April 9, 2023 in Charlotte, NC.
Miguel was in the jail since April 2023 after he murdered Laura mutilation style. Miguel had bipolar disorder and schizoaffective disorder. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
He was prescribed medication for the mental health problems, and he received medicine at the jail on a regular basis. Miguel’s medicine was divalproex and olanzapine. But at some point Miguel switched cells. Jail nurses gave Miguel the methadone medication of the former inmate in the cell. There have been so many jail deaths under Sheriff Garry Mcfadden’s poor racist leadership.
Miguel was not prescribed methadone at all. The methadone caused Miguel’s brain and lungs to slow down. Miguel was found dead in his cell by jail guards. The dosage Miguel received markedly increased the risk of sudden death due to respiratory and central nervous system depression. Now Miguel’s family can sue the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Department, Mecklenburg County, Sheriff Garry Mcfadden, and the jail health contractor for millions of dollars for wrongful death and negligence. If Miguel was given the correct medication, he would of never died.
The sheriff’s departments has been sued a lot under Garry Mcfadden’s bad inadequate leadership for inmates dying in the jail. The most recent lawsuit against the Mecklenbrug County Sheriff’s Department was a female muslim inmate that had her religious rights violated.
LAURA’S MURDER
Miguel cut Laura’s tongue out. Laura’s body was so cut up and damaged that she had a closed casket funeral.
Laura was murdered at apartments on Southwood Oaks Lane. Miguel is accused of entering Laura’s apartment and murdering her. Laura’s body was cut up to the point of mutilation. Laura’s tongue was cut out of her mouth and put in the kitchen.
Laura’s ankles were bound by a cable and there were multiple wires wrapped around her neck. She also suffered from a laceration starting at her neck and running to her belly button. Laura’s skin and body parts were scattered throughout the apartment.
Laura also had extensive damage to her face and head to the point it was unrecognizable. A broken table was used to make three crosses that surrounded Laura’s dead body. Laura also had burns on both of her inner thighs, salt was poured around her.
Miguel was arrested the same day of the homicide and charged with murder.
