FATHER MURDERED IN CHARLOTTE, HIS TEEN SON WAS KILLED MONTHS EARLIER

A father and son are both dead from fired shots, now a mom is left without her husband and son

James McIlwain, 39, was murdered in a shooting on November 22, 2025 on Wallingford Street Charlotte, NC. His son Jayden McIlwain, 16, was also killed in a shooting earlier in 2025. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

James McIlwain and Jayden McIlwain

James was shot and killed at 2 a.m. He died on scene. The suspect fled the scene. James leaves behind a wife, kids, family, and friends.

The son of James identified as Jayden was shot and killed in June 2025 in Charlotte.
