Curry n Cake Indian restaurant had infestation of roaches. Maybe the roaches liked the curry and Indian food. Restaurant suspended immediately from opening. Contractors complain about Indians asking for discounts
On February 11, 2026 Soma Bistro Curry n Cake Indian restaurant scored a 71 C on a food health inspection. Roaches were found on food contact surfaces and prep surfaces. Curry n Cake is located at 2015 E Arbors Dr Charlotte, NC. Many manual labor contractors complain about Indian people always asking for discounts whether it be painting work, carpet work, home construction, landscaping, hard scaping, house cleaning, and many other things. The Indian culture is cemented in seeking discounts, so when Indians migrate to America, many of them still go on the price slashing spree asking for discounts at a lot of places, hence annoying American contractors and businesses.

Curry n Cake employees had no knowledge of the employee health policy. An employee cracked raw shelled eggs, and then handled ready to eat items without changing gloves or washing hands.
The manager grabbed tomato garnish with bare hands. A roach was crawling on clean dishes. Roaches were also crawling on cleaned pans, under the microwave, in light fixtures, and on walls. The inspector observed a roach at the sink on the drainboard with clean dishes. Curry n Cake had a infestation of roaches.
As a result of the roaches the health inspector shut down Curry n Cake by suspending their business permit. The manager said Curry n Cake paid for pest control but there were no records of it.
Clean dishes were stored with dirty dishes. Potatoes and vegetable mix were cold holding at unsafe temperatures above 41F.
Several food items were without date marks. Food was also stored on the floor.
