23-year-old Ryan Zadrozny was killed on December 1, 2024 at 2 a.m. in uptown Charlotte, NC on West Morehead Street. Ryan was a recent college graduate, he was in Charlotte visiting friends. Mache Darby, 40, is accused of killing Ryan in a hit and run crash.
Ryan and his friends were just leaving a bar, as they were crossing the street a Mercedes Benz hit Ryan. The Mercedes Benz was being driven by Mache.
The vehicle did not stop and kept speeding down the street. Ryan’s friends called paramedics, Ryan died on scene.
Officers located the Mercedes a few blocks from the crash location. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled from officers and crashed after a short pursuit.
Officers apprehended Mache and he was arrested. The suspect is charged with second degree murder, felony death by vehicle, hit and run, flee to elude, and reckless driving.
