New details show how Khayden Harris, 23, committed suicide at a home on Abercromby St. Charlotte NC. Khayden was a graduate of The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

Khayden killed himself on July 28, 2024. He was found dead hanging by an electrical cord in the garage.

Khayden tied the cord around his neck, a friend or family member found Khayden hanging by the neck in the garage. The individual then cut Khayden down and called 911.

EMS arrived and they were able to resuscitate Khayden, but he remained unresponsive, and he was transported to the hospital.

The hanging caused Khayden to have cerebral edema and anoxic brain injury which progressed to brain death, he died at the hospital. Khayden was in a fraternity in college.
