Dee died from a fentanyl, cocaine, and ethanol drug overdose on April 20, 2024 in Charlotte, NC. Dee was a senior application specialist at Atrium Health Hospital. Dee had a history of cocaine use, depression, and gastroesophageal reflux disease, after death findings say.

Dee was found dead lying next to her boyfriend on the couch in his residence shortly after noon, Dee had dried blood exuding from her nose and mouth.
Her partner was able to be resuscitated and recovered.
Dee used cocaine. Postmortem toxicology reveals the presence of fentanyl in Dee’s blood, along with cocaine and ethanol. Fentanyl is a potent opioid analgesic.

There was no obvious trauma and no law enforcement suspicion for foul play. But Dee had well healed scars under her right and left breasts.
Dee’s lungs were mildly edematous and congested. Her brain was swollen and edematous.
Ethanol and cocaethylene, a substance formed in the body when cocaine and ethanol are consumed within a short time period, were also present in the decedent’s blood.
The combined use of fentanyl, cocaine, and ethanol markedly increases the risk of sudden death due to the respiratory and central nervous system depressant effects of fentanyl and ethanol and the cardiovascular and cardiotoxic effects of cocaine and its metabolites.
