Leroy Stroud was found dead in his military room at Fort Hood also named Fort Cavazos, he was in Army. Leroy was sick, he graduated from North Meck High School
Leroy Stroud, 22, was a Private First Class in the United States Army he died on August 14, 2026 at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. The base is also known as Fort Cavazos. Leroy was sick and in need of medical care. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

Leroy is an alumni of North Meck High School in Charlotte. After graduation he pursued a career in the United States Army. Leroy was later stationed in Fort Hood, also known as Fort Cavazos.
During training regiments and Army drills Leroy became faint and sick. He declared that he needed medical attention but was ignored by commanding officers.
Leroy even called his parents during the ordeal to let them know what was going on.
Leroy was vomiting and in clear physical distress. Instead of going with his platoon to other military activities, Leroy went back to his barracks and got in bed.

It was in bed that Leroy died. Leroy laid dead for 15 hours before other Army soldiers found him in his bed dead and not breathing.
Now the Stroud family is considering legal action for wrongful death and abandonment. Leroy died just 3 weeks after his birthday. Leroy’s funeral was on September 4, 2026. Click here to see more military news.
