An American Airlines baggage employee made bomb threats to blow up the airport, saying he had bomb in elevator. American Airlines has issues paying for your damaged luggage contents anyway
25-year-old Christian Cox is the American Airlines employee that made a bomb threat on the job at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport located at 5501 Josh Birmingham Parkway in Charlotte, NC on February 25, 2026.

An American Airlines employee received a text message from a coworker identified as Christian Cox. The text message said,
“DONT BE A HERO I GOT A BOMB IN THE ELEVATOR RN”
Christian then sent a subsequent text saying he was joking. However, the employee did not take it as a joke and went to tell an American Airlines supervisor. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram now.
As an American Airlines employee Christian must be in the secured side of the baggage area, hence staff was concerned about the bomb threat. American Airlines has made the news a lot.
The supervisor called 911 to report the crime. Airport police interrogated Christian who then admitted to sending the bomb threat via text message. Christian was arrested charged with making a false bomb report in a public building.
American Airlines will likely fire Christian now. In case you dont know, American Airlines does nothing if property in your luggage gets damaged in their care. Baggage employees throw luggage hard during the baggage process without consideration as to fragile items or what may be in luggage.
When claims are made, American Airlines will not take responsibility for the damaged items. The customer is then stuck with paying for the damaged contents.
