2 cops got a shocking Christmas present during a shootout at the Mint Hill Commons Shopping Center right beside Publix grocery store

2 cops were shot in a triple shooting on the day after Christmas on December 26, 2025 in Mint Hill, NC. The 2 shot cops were officers with the Mint Hill Police Department. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

A woman was just killed in Mint Hill during a suicide on I-485

The suspect was killed by police, marking this a triple shooting. The shooting was at the Mint Hill Commons Shopping Center on Matthews-Mint Hill Road, specifically at the Edible Arrangements store.

A child custody exchange was occurring at the shopping center around 11 a.m. A dispute evolved between the parents and cops were called to the scene.

One of the parents pulled out a gun and cops shot the suspect. Both cops were shot in the process and have critical injuries. It is not known if the cops were shot by their own gunfire or if they were shot by the dead suspect.

The suspect died on the scene in front of holiday shoppers. The Mint Hill officers were rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.

Several officers, evidence markers, and crime scene tape were seen at the scene.
