On February 13, 2025 Cleveland Pegues, 40, was sentenced to five years in prison in Charlotte, NC for selling cocaine.

According to court documents and court proceedings, on March 15, 2023, cops in Charlotte attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Honda Accord for a traffic violation.
The driver identified as Mr. Pegues initially pulled over, but as the officers exited their vehicle the driver took off at a high rate of speed.
As the vehicle sped away, the officers observed a bag being thrown from the passenger window. Officers recovered the bag which contained quantities of marijuana and cocaine.
The officers also conducted a search of the area where the vehicle had traveled and located a stolen and loaded firearm. Mr. Pegues was able to lose cops during the chase.
During the investigation, the officers determined that the driver of the vehicle was Pegues.
A week later while surveilling Pegues, officers observed the defendant walking toward a truck, carrying bags.
When Pegues saw the officers, he attempted to flee on foot, but he was quickly taken into custody. Court records show that Pegues had been carrying a shopping bag and a satchel.
Officers searched the satchel, and found several guns. Inside the shopping bag, officers found multiple plastic bags containing over 100 grams of cocaine packaged for distribution, quantities of MDMA and cocaine base, and more than half a kilogram of marijuana packaged in several bags.
The officers also found digital scales and cash. Court documents show that law enforcement executed a search warrant at Pegues apartment, where they seized $7,000 in cash, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and a money counter.
On August 29, 2024, Pegues pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. The judge gave Mr. Pegues 5 years in prison.
