Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department Officer Onesiphorus Williams, 51, was arrested on Christmas Eve December 24, 2024. Cops do stupid things all the time, but rarely get held accountable.

On Christmas Eve at 5:30 a.m., officers responded to a domestic violence assault with a deadly weapon. Officer Williams had allegedly pointed a gun at people at a home while he was off duty with people he knew.

Officer Williams was voluntarily transported from the scene to police headquarters. At the conclusion of the investigation, Officer Williams was arrested charged with two counts of assault by pointing a gun.
Police Internal Affairs is conducting a simultaneous investigation. Officer Williams is currently on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the internal investigation.
Officer Williams was hired on October 24, 2022, and is currently assigned to the South Division.
