Watch video as a female cop stupidly shoots her own man on FBI task force 14 times in drug raid
Newly released video shows Officer Clarence Belton being shot by Officer Heather Loveridge in Charlotte, NC on Oakburn Drive while on the FBI task force. The suspect was Larry McConneyhead, he was being investigated on drug violations. Officer Loveridge is a cop with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department.
The FBI task force had a raid warrant pursuant to a drug investigation at Larry’s home on Oakburn Drive. The FBI task force gets to the suspect’s house late at night. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
The suspect was coming outside not knowing the cops were at his residence. Cops then chased the suspect, as the suspect ran back into his garage and in the house. Officer Belton and other officers went into the garage.
Charlotte Alerts reported on the shooting when it first occurred.
A woman in the home began shooting at the cops. The officers ran away. Officer Belton began crawling away and that is when Officer Loveridge shot him over and over again.
Officer Loveridge mistook Officer Belton for a suspect and shot him 14 times. Officer Loveridge continued shooting Officer Belton until another officer says “stop that is one of ours.”
Officer Belton was the only black man on the FBI task force, the suspect was also black, and that is what confused Officer Loveridge. Officer Belton was taken to the hospital. Larry and the other suspect were arrested that night after a standoff.
Officer Belton was permanently injured, and he can not work as a police officer anymore, he later sued the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and the City of Charlotte for negligence and other violations.
Officer Loveridge was suspended and recommended for termination after the shooting by the police department. Yet as anticipated District Attorney Spencer Merriweather refused to bring charges on Officer Loveridge. Spencer Merriweather is soft when it comes to pursuing charges on police officers, in fact when U.S. marshals killed a black man on his birthday, District Attorney Spencer Merriweather was lenient on the marshals and decided not to charge them with crimes. Video of the shooting can be seen here.
The police department and the city of Charlotte had the audacity to fight the lawsuit and make unreasonable excuses as to why officer Loveridge shot Officer Belton multiple times.
One poor excuse was that the police letters on Belton’s vest was not big enough. It appears like the case is pending in federal court.
Federal court has many right wing judges that tend to dismiss civil rights cases and cases against police departments and cases against big companies. It is said amongst attorneys that power keeps power in power.
