There have now been 3 people killed on Interstate 77 in a week
One person was killed in a crash on September 14, 2025 that occurred on Interstate 77 in Charlotte, NC. The wreck was near the West Boulevard interchange.
The vehicle was involved in a collision and caught fire. The victim in the car died on scene. The fire caused the smell of burning gasoline and car parts in the air. The fire was eventually put out by fire fighters.
I-77 was temporarily closed. This is now the 3rd death on I-77 in a week.
