Demetrick McDonald, 19, was arrested on September 18, 2024 accused of shooting 2-year-old Leiloni Kinard at apartments on Evoke Living Lane Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
But trouble began when they came home to their apartments. Around 1 a.m. a drive-by shooting occurred, Leiloni was sleeping from a day full of fun. Bullets hit Leiloni while she was in her bed.
Multiple shots were fired. The assailant drove off. Leiloni was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Leiloni is in emergency surgery at the hospital, although death is not likely right now.
On September 18th Demetrick was arrested charged with the shooting of the little girl. He faces assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and conspiracy.
