At 5:05 a.m. the hurricane caused a tree to come down on Brookway Drive. The heavy rain made the ground around the tree very soft, the wind along with the weight of the tree forced it to come down onto the victim’s house.

Several kids were in the house at the time of the tree crash. The tree fell on Anthony’s bedroom, he was killed instantly. Another adult was in the house, who made it out alive along with the children.

Hurricane Helene began in the Gulf of Mexico but made its way all the way up to the edges of North Carolina. Heavy wind and rain barraged the Charlotte area.
