CHARLOTTE MAN DIES AFTER TREE FALLS ON HOUSE DURING HURRICANE HELENE

On September 27, 2024, Anthony Taylor, 62, died after a tree fell on his house caused by Hurricane Helene in Charlotte, NC. The rain and wind forced the tree down. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

At 5:05 a.m. the hurricane caused a tree to come down on Brookway Drive. The heavy rain made the ground around the tree very soft, the wind along with the weight of the tree forced it to come down onto the victim’s house. 

Several kids were in the house at the time of the tree crash. The tree fell on Anthony’s bedroom, he was killed instantly. Another adult was in the house, who made it out alive along with the children.

Hurricane Helene began in the Gulf of Mexico but made its way all the way up to the edges of North Carolina. Heavy wind and rain barraged the Charlotte area.
