Video cops ran red lights during high speed chase, now they’re being sued after Brittany Webb was killed. Cops called man stupid
New video released today shows Brittany Webb, 28, died in a head on crash while police were actively chasing Bryan Franklin, 20, in a high speed pursuit in Charlotte, NC. Police lied about the pursuit and violated their own chase policy, all over a tinted license plate tag. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Brittany was in a vehicle on Statesville Road Charlotte, NC on January 3, 2022 when she was hit head on in a crash. It all started when police tried pulling over Bryan for having a tinted cover over his license plate. Bryan was driving a black SUV on I-85 near Brookshire Boulevard.

Cops chased Bryan anyway, and it is clearly seen on video that the cops were running red lights, speeding, and still had lights and siren on. One cop even tried throwing a trash can at Bryan’s car, as seen on video.
That led to Bryan accelerating even more and then driving into the wrong way of traffic. Bryan’s SUV then crashed head on into Brittany.
Several people were in Brittany’s car and were injured. Brittany had blunt force injury to her head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Officers are seen telling Bryan to shut up and that he was stupid. The victims were all taken to the hospital.
On scene a black sergeant is heard telling the officers,
“Didnt you hear me say not to chase”
The idiotic cops lied on scene to their supervisor and said we didnt chase, we just initiated a traffic stop and that was it. The video clearly shows that the cops were chasing Bryan.
Brittany’s medical state was complicated by strokes at the hospital. Brittany died on January 21, 2022. Bryan was later convicted of attempted murder. Bryan was given a 13 year prison sentence.
Now the family of Brittany Webb is suing the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department for wrongful death, saying the police caused the crash by chasing the suspect. High speed chases are extremely dangerous.

There is so much death and risk associated with high speed chases, that is why many police departments don’t allow chases. Charlotte has a no chase policy, but many cops engage in pursuits anyway.
