Derrick House was wrongfully arrested and detained by dumb acting police alleging that he was a suspect in a shooting. But within minutes, cops realized they had the wrong guy. On January 17, 2025 Derrick and his attorneys filed a lawsuit against the police department. The altercation was in Dupage County, Illinois. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

On January 19, 2024 Derrick was in a gray SUV coming home from grocery shopping at Cotsco. Cops were looking for a black SUV connected with a violent shooting.
Derrick was cut off by cops and forced to pull over in traffic. With snow on the ground cops rushed at Derrick with guns. Even a black cop is heard threatening to shoot Derrick in the head for no reason at all.
Cops force Derrick out of the vehicle and arrest him and putting him in a police car.
Within a minute, a cop looks at Derrick’s license plate number and recognizes that it is the wrong car and is not associated with the shooting.
After all, Derrick had a completely different color vehicle than the SUV connected to the shooting. Cops are heard cursing at themselves for getting the wrong car.
Derrick is then let out of the police car and taken out of handcuffs. Police further lie to Derrick and tell him that he had the same car and same license plate as a vehicle involved in a shooting.
Derrick immediately recognizes that the police are lying, Derrick begins saying “no” and shaking his head in defiance to the deceptive words of the foolish behaving police.
Derrick gets in his SUV and pulls off from the scene. A year later, Derrick sued the police department alleging false arrest, excessive force, false imprisonment, and other notions. The civil case is pending.
