Anthony Sanchez was killed after he stole a Colorado State Patrol police vehicle on June 20, 2023 in Otero County Colorado.
Around 11 a.m. Anthony reportedly fired shots and caused multiple crashes, even an attempted head on crash with himself and other vehicles.
Troopers then chased Anthony at high speeds, cops eventually had to perform a tactical vehicle intervention on Anthony’s black vehicle to stop him.
Anthony was arrested and placed in handcuffs in the back of a trooper’s vehicle. Anthony is then seen on video putting his hands to the front of his body and lifting his legs over the handcuffs.
Anthony then climbed to the front of the patrol vehicle and drove off. Cops then realized that Anthony stole their patrol vehicle, and radioed the incident in.
Agencies on the scene pursued the suspect in the stolen patrol vehicle and troopers deployed stop sticks further down the highway.
Anthony was able to dodge 2 of the stop stick attempts. But on the 3rd stop stick try, Anthony hit them and his tires punctured, sending him crashing into an 18-wheeler truck.
Anthony died on the scene from the crash.
