James Withrow, 42, was arrested on May 2, 2025 in Charlotte, NC accused of DWI. James is a Vice President of Global Information Security at Bank of America.

James was driving a BMW, a cop says the suspect was speeding. A traffic stop was conducted. As James was pulling over he swerved, spun out, and crashed into someone’s yard on Poindexter Drive. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram now.

The BMW undercarriage appeared to become dislodged from the vehicle, the tires ran into a large pile of mulch. James appeared regretful and apologetic for what had occurred.

During the police exchange, James had red glassy eyes, slurred speech, and a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from his mouth.

During standard sobriety tests, cops say James had a lack of smooth pursuit in the walk and turn test, an inability to maintain balance during instructions, incorrect heel to toe, improper turn, and incorrect number of steps.
During the one leg stand test James is accused of swaying and losing balance. James took a formal Intoxilyzer examination where his blood alcohol was 0.21 more than twice the legal limit, according to prosecutors. James was arrested charged with driving while impaired.
