Teen Jayden McIlwain was killed in a residential shooting
Jayden McIlwain, 16, was killed in a shooting on Kirkville Lane Charlotte, NC on June 28, 2025. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Jayden was shot at 7:40 p.m. at a residence. Officers responded to a call for an assault with a deadly weapon. Jayden was discovered with a gunshot wound.
Jayden was pronounced dead on the scene. It is not known if the shooting was accidental or suicide. But as of yet, the case is not deemed a homicide.
Jayden’s funeral was on July 5, 2025 at King’s Funeral Home Chapel on Beatties Ford Road. Jayden’s teenage shooting death occurred a few days before another teen was shot and killed.
