A shooting occurred at the popular/ghetto Onyx strip club, a customer was shot by mistake, now Onyx will likely be sued by victim and fined by ABC. This is the 4th shooting at a Charlotte strip club this year
On December 14, 2025 a shooting occurred at Club Onyx strip club on Pineville Road Charlotte, NC. Rylee Koenders, 20, was arrested accused of pulling a gun on security guards at Club Onyx, but the guards shot an innocent customer instead of the suspect.
It all started when Rylee was at the predominately black strip club with a friend. It was around 5 a.m. and the club was near closing. Security at Club Onyx was telling people to leave and clearing out the parking lot. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Rylee was with friends and allegedly refused to leave the strip club. Rylee is accused of getting angry and walking to his car and jumping in the passenger side.
Rylee is accused of then exiting the vehicle with a 9mm assault rifle and pointing it at Club Onyx security guards. The security guards shot at Rylee, but they had poor aim and missed, instead they shot Rylee’s friend who was an innocent customer.
Rylee and his friend ran off into the woods, leaving their car in the parking lot. The Club Onyx night manager called police to report the shooting. Rylee and the shot victim tried calling an Uber, but police arrived before the Uber.
Cops did a search of the area and found Rylee along with the shot victim. Rylee was arrested charged with 2 counts of assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill. The shot victim was taken to the hospital to be examined and treated.
Now the shot customer will likely sue Onyx and win since he was a innocent victim. Businesses have to pay out big money when they shoot customers. Also the ABC will likely issue a fine on Club Onyx due to a shooting occurring.
This marks the 4th shooting at a strip club in Charlotte this year alone.
After that, a security guard was shot at the Gold Strip Club in Charlotte, and the general manager was robbed at gunpoint by customers.
Also a double murder occurred at the Queens Cabaret strip club, one of the victims was a security guard at the club, the other was a customer that drove a luxury Bentley vehicle.
