Judge Clayton Jones was in jail with the big boys, in hot water over assault on female charges
Durham Chief District Court Judge Clayton Jones, 48, was arrested on December 8, 2025 accused of domestic violence in Durham, NC. The judge already had a domestic violence protective order against him.

Judge Jones is the chief district court judge of Durham County. The judge had an argument with a woman. Judge Jones is accused of physically attacking a woman that he was previously in a relationship with.
The encounter occurred allegedly in November 2025 at an Advance Auto Parts and a mechanic shop. An argument over price began between the female and the judge.
They went to Advance Auto Parts, the woman called a male mechanic for a discount on fixing her car. The judge and woman then went back to a mechanic shop.
The judge is charged with hitting the woman and grabbing the back of her neck with his hand, allegedly angry that she called another man to fix the vehicle at a discounted price.
Judge Jones was arrested charged with assault on a female and domestic violence. Judge Jones was first elected in 2018 and is currently serving his second term as judge.
Judge Jones is due in court on Jan. 5, 2026. The woman had already filed a protective order on Judge Jones.
