A male teenager murdered a woman on Christmas Day in Charlotte, now multiple suspects are off to prison
Zion Jennings, 19, pled guilty to murdering Kennedi Jones, 19. The female victim was murdered on Christmas day 2024 in Charlotte, NC. Dreshon Moreno, 23, pled guilty to robbery conspiracy. James Mason was arrested charged with the woman’s murder also. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Kennedi was murdered on Christmas Day 2024 on Shamrock Drive Charlotte, NC. She was found dead in a car. James, Dreshon, and Zion are accused of taking Kennedi’s bag and Apple IPhone and then murdering her. At 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a call in reference to a motor vehicle crash with injuries.
James, Dreshon, and Zion were all arrested charged with murder in 2024.
At trial in July 2026 Zion Jennings pleaded guilty in court to second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle in operation. He was given 16 years in prison.
Dreshon Moreno pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and got 2 years in prison. James is still awaiting trial as his charges are pending. But it is to be noted that James was already on trial accused of murdering someone else too identified as Calvin Washington.
