On February 13, 2022, there was a murder on I-485 in Charlotte, NC near Mount Holly Road.
Around 7:00 p.m., while the Super Bowl was being played, officers responded to reports of an accident with a personal injury.
Cops located a Mercedes Benz vehicle that had veered off of the roadway and was on fire. They determined that the violent incident happened on Marita drive. But the victim was able to drive a short distance to I-485.
Officers were able to remove the driver from the vehicle and start lifesaving efforts before medics arrived. But paramedics pronounced the driver deceased. At this time it is not known if the victim was shot, beat, or if someone intentionally set the vehicle on fire. However, the case is indeed a homicide.
This is the third murder this weekend in Charlotte.
