One person was killed in uptown Charlotte, NC on June 24, 2022 during a double shooting. The violence erupted at 9 p.m. during a protest of the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court over-turn decision. The shooting was on East Trade Street in the heart of uptown.
An altercation took place and 2 people were shot. One of the victims died, the other victim was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
The City LYNX Gold Line stopped operating due to the massive crowd and police presence.
