Anthony’s body was transported to the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office. On September 11, 2024, the dead body was positively identified as belonging to Anthony Smith.
The N.C. Medical Examiner’s Office determined Anthony died from a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.
No arrests have been made.
