Unlawfully present Mexican national Juan Antonio Perez, 46, was indicted on federal felony charges of illegally employing and exploiting workers on May 7 in Georgia.

Juan Antonio Perez

Juan is the “El Chapo” of hiring illegal immigrants and he got rich off of it. Juan has a million dollar house that was guarded by armed men 24 hours a day.

Juan is a multi-millionaire and is charged with using his construction company, Aztec Framing, which operated in northwest Georgia and eastern Tennessee, to unlawfully profit by employing 200 illegal immigrants and paying them below-market wages.

This allowed Juan to undercut legitimate business competitors who were unable to compete due to his illegal business practices. Juan is also charged with being an illegal immigrant in possession of 14 firearms – federal law prohibits illegal immigrants from possessing firearms.

From June 2018 to October 2018 alone, one of Juan’s PNC Bank accounts issued 320 checks, totaling more than $2.3 million, while that same account received more than $3.4 million in deposits from October 2018 to January 2019.

Juan allegedly came to the United States illegally in 1992. He has lived in Bartow County, Georgia, and has operated Aztec Framing at least since 2009. Aztec Framing has offices across the east coast.

Juan allegedly employed illegal immigrants at below-market rates, provided no benefits or insurance, and did not pay payroll taxes or Social Security. Juan allegedly used the proceeds of his illegal activity to build a 7,500-square-foot million dollar house. Juan also bought other houses where he allowed some of his employees to live, and purchased more than 50 sports cars and heavily customized trucks.

As an undocumented immigrant, Juan was unable to register his fleet of vehicles or utility accounts under his own name. Juan instead had others make the purchases for him and, if need be, register such expenses under their own names.

Juan’s vehicles and guns were all confiscated by federal officials in a raid.

Authorities say all of the confiscated material, including the guns and the vehicles, will go up for auction if Juan is convicted.

Even with his millions of dollars, as of April 2019, the Georgia Department of Labor had no record of Juan reporting any income.
