On May 8, 2019 at approximately 9:06 a.m., 911 received a call for service regarding a tree service worker who had located the skeletal remains of a person.
The deceased was found in woods near the 9700 block of I-77 at Morehead Street Charlotte, NC.
At this time this is a death investigation, not a homicide. The cause of death will not be determined until the Medical Examiner’s office has a chance to conduct their part of the investigation.
The deceased individual’s identity is currently unknown. It is also unknown how long the body was at that location.
In a separate occurrence, a man committed suicide on I-77 by jumping off of a bridge a few days ago.
