Sidney bought a $10 Jumbo Bucks scratch off lottery ticket at the Wilson Grove Road Food Lion. A Charlotte man won $1 million in the lottery at the Walmart on North Tryon St.
Sidney checked his ticket and he won the $1 million top prize. Sidney could receive an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000.
Wisely, Sidney chose the lump sum, after state and federal taxes he took home $429,003.
The Jumbo Bucks lottery game debuted in June 2023 with seven $1 million prizes. Magnitudes of people have won the lottery in Charlotte recently.
