On September 14, 2022 Warren Capel, 34, was identified as a suspect in the Charlotte, NC murder of Jamil Rout, 36.
Jamil was murdered on February 13, 2022, on Interstate 485 in Charlotte, NC near Mount Holly Road.
Jamil was on Marita Drive in Charlotte when he was physically assaulted or shot. Jamil was able to drive to I-485 nearby, but he veered off the road and crashed, his Mercedes Benz vehicle was on fire.
Jamil was in the car burning, a 911 call was made and responders arrived at the scene.
Jamil was still pronounced dead at the scene.
Months later Warren was served arrest warrants for Jamil’s murder, Warren was already locked up in the Piedmont Correctional Institution for alleged unrelated charges.
