A handicap man was ran over by a vehicle in Charlotte
Mark Hendel, 52, was killed in a hit and run crash on Old Pineville Rd. Charlotte, NC. Ioannis Vlahos, 59, was arrested charged in the wreck.
The crash was on August 24, 2025 at 10:16 p.m., Mark was in a wheelchair, he was not in a marked crosswalk. Ioannis was allegedly driving a SUV that collided with Mark.
Mark was knocked out of the wheelchair and onto the ground. The SUV kept driving. Mark was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
But on September 15, 2025 Mark died at the hospital after days of surgery. Ioannis was arrested on September 15, 2025 charged with hit and run and death by vehicle.
