On March 3, 2020, Anthony Huynh, 22, was arrested and charged with the murder of Van Thien Huynh, 55.
A homicide investigation began after Van Thien Huynh was found deceased near Sardis Road North Charlotte, NC on March 1, 2020 at noon. Officers responded to a check-the-welfare call and located Van Thien Huynh in a creek in the woods dead with a gunshot wound.
Van Thien Huynh had been reported missing on February 29, 2020. Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Anthony, and warrants were issued for his arrest. The victim and suspect are relatives.
