On Valentines Day 2019, a 911 caller had located what appeared to be human remains in a wooded area on Hucks Road.
The dead body was located by a Croft Community Elementary School teacher, who was retrieving a ball that had gone over a fence while students were playing outside. No students observed Sam’s dead body.
Sam was reported missing in that area on July 3, 2018. Detectives found no visible signs of trauma, and are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death.
