29-year-old Amado Barragan Lopez was arrested on December 30, 2024. Amado is accused of sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s 9-year-old daughter on Christmas Day 2024 in Charlotte, NC at trailer-park homes. Armado had no family relation to the little girl. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
Amado, his girlfriend, and the female victim all lived in the same trailer-park residence. Amado is accused of touching the girl under her clothing in her private areas. The victim was sleeping on Christmas Day when the suspect entered her bedroom.
The female victim woke up to someone touching her. The touch was sexual and under her garments. The victim disclosed she attempted to move the hand away from her multiple times and held onto her teddy bear tightly, the girl placed the bear between her and the hand in order to stop the unwanted touching.
The alleged touching then stopped. On the same day, the victim told her mother and grandmother what had allegedly occurred.
The girl’s mother and grandmother confronted Amado. Charging documents allege Amado apologized and dropped to his knees and was asking for forgiveness.
The family went to police to report the incident. Crimes Against Children Detectives met with the victim, the mother, and the grandmother on December 26th.
The female victim was also interviewed and examined at Pat’s Place Child Advocacy Center. The girl told detectives that she had been sexually abused by Amado multiple times before Christmas day 2024 too.
The female victim said that in November 2024 a few days prior to Thanksgiving, clothes and undergarments were pulled back and she was touched and kissed.
A similar encounter allegedly occurred when she was sleep in November 2024 also. On December 30th the defendant met with Crimes Against Children Detectives for a voluntary interview.
It is alleged that during the interview Amado admitted to touching the girl on her private areas multiple times. Amado was immediately arrested during the interview and charged with multiple counts of indecent liberties with a child.
