24-year-old James Mason was arrested on January 7, 2025 charged with the homicide of 19-year-old Kennedi Jones in Charlotte, NC. Kennedi was murdered on Christmas Day 2024. James is accused of taking Kennedi’s bag and Apple IPhone and then murdering her.
At 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a call in reference to a motor vehicle crash with injuries.
Inside the vehicle, officers discovered Kennedi with life threatening injuries. Medics arrived and Kennedi was transported to Atrium Main Hospital.
The victim was later pronounced deceased by hospital staff as a result of her injuries. James was arrested nearly 2 weeks later charged with murder and robbery. It is not yet known how Kennedi was killed.
But this is not the first time James has been charged with murder. In January 2024 James was arrested charged with the murder of another teenager identified as Calvin Washington, 17.
