FUEL TRUCK FLIPS OVER AND SPILLS GAS OVER TARMAC AT PALM BEACH AIRPORT

Date:

A overturned tanker truck at Palm Beach International Airport in Palm Beach County, Florida caused big delays for passengers.

On December 28, 2019 a fuel truck carrying jet fuel at the airport overturned and caused a huge spill. The truck was carrying over 8000 gallons of jet fuel. The fuel was drained into the city’s sewer system. The truck was sprayed with a special foam.

A hazmat crew was on scene.

Firefighters stabilized the truck and then offloaded the fuel. The truck was then turned upright. There were no injuries and aircraft activity was redirected away from the spill.

There is no word on what caused the truck to overturn and spill gas.
