Quincy McWaine, 26, was sentenced to 82 months in prison on November 30, 2023 in Charlotte, NC on gun charges. Quincy was first arrested as the main suspect in a Labor Day homicide in 2015, but that charge was dismissed by prosecutors. Follow our new Instagram page.

On Labor Day weekend 2015 Elias Perez, 30, was shot and killed on Glenfiddich Drive Charlotte, NC.
Qunicy was charged with the murder of Elias 2 months after the deadly shooting. But one year later in September 2016 prosecutors dismissed the murder charge on Qunicy without leave and with no plea agreement.
With a new lease on life and freedom from a murder conviction, Quincy still chose to break the law.
Between July 2021 and June 2022, Quincy illegally possessed firearms on three separate occasions. Specifically on July 2, 2021, officers in Charlotte were dispatched on a service call for an alleged assault with a deadly weapon.
Responding officers approached Quincy to question him in connection with the incident and observed a firearm sticking out of his pant pocket.
Quincy was arrested and officers removed two firearms from his pockets, one of which had been reported stolen.
In addition to the firearms, officers also seized marijuana, more than $25,000 in cash, and a Glock magazine.
The second incident occurred on December 10, 2021, while officers were investigating Quincy in connection with a shooting incident.
Officers located Quincy, who was on court ordered electronic monitoring for prior offenses, and attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle he was driving.
Quincy did not stop and tried to evade arrest, first by speeding away in his vehicle and later on foot. Quincy was apprehended shortly thereafter.
Investigating officers also found a firearm Quincy had discarded while he fled on foot. The recovered firearm was affixed with a large capacity magazine and was loaded with five rounds of ammunition.
The third incident took place on June 3, 2022, while officers were attempting to execute outstanding arrest warrants against Quincy.
Officers located Quincy seated in the rear passenger seat of a vehicle parked at a gas station and arrested him. Arresting officers also searched the vehicle and located a loaded firearm tucked under the seat where Quincy had been sitting.
Federal prosecutors prosecuted Quincy since he was a felon and his crimes met criteria for the federal level.
On June 20, 2023, Quincy pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon. He remains in federal custody and will be transferred to the custody of the federal Bureau of Prisons upon designation of a federal facility.
