MAN ACCUSED OF HAVING 12 KILOGRAMS OF COCAINE VIA FED EX DELIVERY

A police dog sniffed out 12 bricks of cocaine in a Fed Ex package at the Fed Ex facility, cops then dressed as Fed Ex delivery drivers and delivered the drugs to the suspect’s home

Michael Papadoupalos, 50, was arrested on July 25, 2026 accused of having 12 kilograms of cocaine delivered to his house via a Fed Ex delivery in Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

On July 24, 2026 detectives with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department conducted a canine open air sniff of a FedEx parcel that was addressed to a home on Park Road in Charlotte.

The canine had a positive alert for narcotics on the parcel and a search warrant was executed to open the package. Upon receiving an authorized search warrant from a Superior Court Judge, the package was opened and it reveled approximately 12 kilograms of cocaine.

Upon seizing the cocaine, an anticipatory search warrant was applied for the Park Road home. Michael lived at the home. Michael was also a target of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

Police conducted a undercover controlled delivery of the Fed Ex package that contained the 12 bricks of cocaine. Cops dressed up as Fed Ex drivers to trick Michael.

Undercover cops under the guise of Fed Ex delivered the 12 kilograms of cocaine to the residence on Park Road. After one hour Michael was observed picking up the Fed Ex parcel.

Cops then knocked down the door and arrested Michael. He was charged with trafficking cocaine.

12 kilograms of cocaine were also found at the Double Tree Hilton hotel in Charlotte
