FATHER ESCAPES HIGH SPEED CHASE, LEAVES KIDS IN CAR AFTER PURSUIT

32-year-old Kirby Faulkner left his 2 children in a car on Interstate 485 after a high speed chase with cops in Charlotte, NC. The chase was on September 26, 2023 in the afternoon.

Kirby was driving in Union County when a cop tried pulling him over for a fake license plate. Kirby sped away from the officer. The chase led to I-485 into Charlotte.

A tire deflation device was deployed on the suspect vehicle near the Lawyers Rd exit. Kirby’s vehicle came to a stop and he fled on foot, leaving his 2 kids in the car abandoned. The kids were just 1 and 11 years old.

Deputies later learned the car Kirby was driving had been reported stolen. A large quantity of marijuana was inside the vehicle. Kirby was not caught until the next day on September 27th at night. 

Kirby is charged with fleeing to elude, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, child abuse, and possession of marijuana.
