On April 15, 2020 Christion Vaughn Jones, 19, was charged with murder and felony child abuse of his 7-month-old son.
Less than a year earlier on July 4, 2019 police were called to an apartment to investigate a report that said an infant wasn’t breathing. CPR was performed on the infant as well as life-saving measures. An ambulance took the infant to Brenner’s Children Hospital where the infant was pronounced dead.
An autopsy determined the 7-month-old sustained injuries which led to death. The death was ruled a homicide. Autopsy results showed the infant suffered a torn liver, broken ribs, a tear in a vein carrying blood to his heart, and a damaged intestine, among other injuries.
The autopsy report also said the infant had bruises on his scalp, face, and lower back.
After further investigation, warrants were obtained for Christion’s arrest. Christion is being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center with no bond.
