19-year-old Kaneycha Turner was murdered on October 25, 2022 during a double murder in Greensboro, NC. 2 people were killed and 6 people total were shot during a wild party. Kaneycha is a student at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, which is a historically black college university.
Kaneycha was murdered during NC A&T University’s homecoming week.
The shooting was at 11:30 p.m. on Circle Drive at an off campus apartment complex that was popular among students. Several people were gathered together during a party. Assailants then approached and began shooting AK-47 guns.
6 people were shot total. Kaneycha was shot and died at the scene. Another victim was shot and also died.
4 other people were shot and then taken to the hospital where they have serious injuries, they are in critical condition. The suspects fled from the scene.
No arrests have been made. Kaneycha was a freshman student and was majoring in management business administration.
NC A&T University has a busy week planned with this being their homecoming. The rap star ‘Lil Baby’ is coming to the school’s homecoming to perform a concert. There will also be a gospel show by Tye Tribbett.
NC A&T University has made a name for itself as having stellar homecoming parties and gatherings. There will also be a huge step show involving multiple fraternities on and off campus.
