Willie Little, 57, was arrested on April 16, 2026 accused of raping 79-year-old Lois Hunter in Charlotte, NC. This is a 33‑year‑old sexual assault cold case. The rape was in July 1993.
On Friday, July 9, 1993, at approximately 3 a.m. Lois reported that an unknown, uninvited suspect entered her bedroom at 322 Benjamin St. while she was in bed. The victim stated the suspect raped her.
No suspect was ever caught. Lois died in 1996. Cold Case detectives continued investigating the case for decades. In 2018, a DNA profile was obtained from evidence.
In 2023, a Y‑STR profile was developed, and in 2025, a familial DNA match identified a relative connected to the unknown suspect. Detectives conducted an extensive review of the family history, which led them to identify Willie as a potential suspect.
In 2026, CMPD Cold Case detectives confirmed Willie as the suspect through additional DNA testing. On Thursday, April 16, 2026 cops located and arrested Willie. He is charged with burglary and rape.
